Conference Code of Conduct
At The eLearning Guild, we assume that most people are respectful and well-intended and we’re not inclined to tell people what to do. However, we want every Guild conference to provide a harassment-free experience for everyone.
We want everyone to enjoy the conference itself and the great networking and community richness that happens when we get together in person, so we will not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form—in person or online.
Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion (or lack thereof); displaying sexual images in public spaces; deliberate intimidation; stalking; following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or other events; inappropriate physical contact; and unwelcome sexual attention.
Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
Sponsors and vendors are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In particular, sponsors should not use sexualized images, activities, or other material. Booth staff (including volunteers) should not use sexualized clothing/uniforms/costumes, or otherwise create a sexualized environment.
If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the conference organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including expulsion from the conference with no refund.
If you are being harassed, or notice that someone else is being harassed, please bring it to the immediate attention of the event staff, or contact our vice president of programming, David Kelly, at dkelly@elearningguild.com. Conference staff can be identified by the staff tags on their name badges and their blue shirts marked with The eLearning Guild logo.
We thank you for your help in keeping the event welcoming, respectful, and friendly to all participants.
