Phil Rosenthal is the host of Netflix’s Emmy-nominated Somebody Feed Phil, an unscripted documentary series about food and travel that won a Critics Choice Real TV Award for “Best Travel/ Adventure Show” in 2022. He is also the New York Times bestselling author of Somebody Feed Phil: The Book, a collection of recipes, stories, behind-the-scenes photos, and more from the first four seasons of the beloved series. Rosenthal recently launched the podcast Naked Lunch. In each episode, he and co-host David Wild interview a guest while eating lunch from some of Phil’s favorite local LA eateries. A graduate of Hofstra University, Rosenthal moved to LA in 1989. His early writing credits include the hit CBS comedy Everybody Loves Raymond, which premiered in 1996. He served as the showrunner and executive producer for all nine years of the show’s very successful run, which ended in 2005. Rosenthal also co-wrote America: A Tribute to Heroes, the 9/11 telethon which aired in September 2001, for which he won a Peabody Award and an Emmy nomination for “Outstanding Writing.” In 2020, Rosenthal launched “Somebody Feed the People,” an initiative that supports organizations making an impact and building community through food. This inclusive and non-partisan project partners with organizations that address food access and insecurity, support chefs and restaurant workers, create employment pathways, and strengthen the health of our food systems.
