James McCarthy
Instructional Technologist

James McCarthy is an instructional technologist for CLPD at Dartmouth-
Hitchcock Medical Center. He designs and develops online learning
opportunities for healthcare professionals. With a background in both social
work and health information technology, he brings a unique methodology to
instructional design that focuses on learner-needs analysis, authentic practice,
and strategies for knowledge retention. James has a bachelor of arts in
psychology from the University of Massachusetts, a master of education in
instructional design from the University of Massachusetts, and a certificate in
gamification from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
