To be effective, it must tell a story.
This session looks at the techniques involved in drafting infographics with visual hierarchies to convey meaning, followed by ways that you can quickly and easily construct your proposal graphics using nothing but PowerPoint. You'll examine the different uses for infographics and how they can be used to support a variety of training tools, or be standalone for quick microlearning or reference guides. There will be plenty of examples, from the immediately practical to the more long-term inspirational, so that you can get going now and improve over time. Dana Shalab Alsham is a learning experience designer with RL Solutions, a healthcare software company. She is a Toronto-based interdisciplinary designer focused on usability, efficiency, and functionality. Dana has worked as a lead designer and front-end developer in various multimedia projects, including website design and development, vector and motion graphics creation, video production, interactive eLearning, and augmented reality, for both public and private sector clients. With a master's in inclusive design, she is passionate about accessibility and creating compelling user experiences. You will explore features including text-to-speech functionality, closed caption creation, marker creation, and animated hover states.

In 2002, Ron founded a consulting firm and challenge course devoted to increasing organizational performance while developing authenticity and integrity. It’s also easy with this stream of new options to miss out on great new updates or techniques that can allow you to use old favorites in new ways.
Through a series of three-minute mini presentations, you’ll hear from a wide range of speakers about the tools, apps, and online resources they find make a noticeable difference in the work they do in L&D. You’ll discover new resources and software and new ways to use them that can assist you with designing and developing learning experiences, from tools that will help you create content to others that can help your productivity. These speakers won’t just share what these tools are, they’ll also share how they can be used specifically in our industry, and how they’ve personally leveraged them in their own work. You’ll leave this session with a list of practical new ideas for tools and resources to check out when you get back to work.
