Microlearning Design Summit
Monday, October 22
Technological advancements are enabling us to provide just the right type of learning and support that our learners need, at the time and within the context that they need it. This combination of short bursts of training and just-in-time support has emerged as one of the hottest buzzwords in our industry: Microlearning.
But what exactly is microlearning, and how do you incorporate it into the learning programs your organization is building? Those are two of the key questions that will be answered at the first annual Microlearning Design Summit. We’ve brought together some of the leading voices in microlearning to separate the fact from the fiction and to help you build the skills you need to harness the potential of microlearning for your organization. At the Microlearning Design Summit, you’ll go beyond the buzz to discover the core value of microlearning and collaborate with others in building real microlearning resources and learn valuable skills you can apply to your own projects.

Demystifying Microlearning—Carla Torgerson
Microlearning is the hottest buzzword in our industry. It’s also a term whose definition is hard to pin down. Our day will start by providing clarity around what microlearning is and what it is not.
Included in this section are the myths of microlearning. Many of the microlearning discussions in our industry are driven by ideas and beliefs that are actually not research-based and limit our ability to harness the true potential of microlearning. Exploring these myths will form a foundation upon which your designs can be built.
